Why get an appraisal?

Appraisals are required for certain tax purposes such as estate tax filing and charitable contribution. Many insurance policies require regularly updated appraisals of fine art covered by the policy. You may also benefit from an appraisal or other valuation services if you are preparing estate plans, considering selling pieces in your collection, or determining if conservation is an economical option.
